Hello Again!

Let’s reflect for a minute on recent weeks. It’s a good time for reflection in any case as, being part of the great cosmic plan, we are poised on the threshold of big planetary changes.

Mercury was retrograde  between 18th April and 12th May. Not the best of times for decision making and moving forward in a fast way.    A causing  of some chaos in the areas of communications, arrangements and technology. { oh, and election difficulties as well} The prefix 're' as in reassess, renegotiate revise etc    is useful to be aware of!  Since then have you  felt the need to change decisions   made during that time or have you found contracts or other agreements made then get changed or re-considered?

This year of 2010 seems to me to be a year of choosing Clarity and getting Real. Last year was decidedly unstable and prone to anxiety attacks! So now is the time to get clear about endings,  new beginnings and feeling more centered inside.  The fact that most of the planets are in the later signs of the zodiac as we go through the second half of this year  suggests that collective issues take precedence over personal ones. There is a push towards perspective and ‘the larger picture’.  Get your big ideas going then. But the really big Astrological news is the ongoing ingress of Pluto into Capricorn – where it will stay for the next 10 years.  The last visit there was 249 years ago. In future ‘Catch the wave’ news, I will be reporting more about this phenomena, but for now some thoughts and intuitions.

 

Pluto entered Capricorn on January 25th 2008, giving it a brief respite between June 15th and November 27th as it retrograded back into Sagittarius for that time. People like to use the expression ‘business as usual’ when things stay the same and the status quo is upheld. Capricorn is the sign of structure, status, ambition and organization. Also of authority – inner and outer. As Pluto reveals and destroys when things are outmoded, we are in an important  time period  for addressing of the status quo, ‘how things look to create a semblance of security,’ and the pull between the need to have the kind of jobs to give us status contra the coming from our core essence and what that is drawing us to do

 

Capricorn is an ‘earth’ sign and asks of us to be ‘real’ and grow up. Its spiritual message amplifies that by taking us into a deeper maturity when it comes to aims and inner authority. Expect some public structures and personal ones to burst like boils if they are not appropriate to the Now. Governments and other authority bodies may feel the whip here.

Capricorn marks the winter solstice time, traditionally the time in the northern hemisphere of the ‘return of the light’ and the darkest day. In times past, tribes would sacrifice a goat and then set another free. The latter would be a symbol of cleansing the past and its shadows and taking away the sins of the tribe. It was called the scapegoat. The symbol for Capricorn is the goat.  Many saviour gods, pagan and Christian, were   linked with this time of the year.

 

So – a thought – some scapegoats may emerge on the world stage symbolising the need for change and the breakdown of the old. There will also be charismatic leaders.  Think Obama in this case. But there will be more.

 

On a personal level, look at issues of blame and guilt (a co-dependent  thing) and make a decision to break that cycle of  behaviour.  It is strange how long it takes us to learn the lesson of not blaming parent type figures for patterns we have ourselves! We really cannot grow until we do this.

 

DUST STOPS PLAY!

                        

I must of course mention the god Vulcan  (volcano) or Pluto, as he was also known. Pluto was the god of the underworld and in the sign of Capricorn which rules mountainous rock, it is no surprise that this huge eruption impacting our lives in more than just travel related ones has occurred. I find it interesting that we truly cannot make a scapegoat out of it. Of course people will always try to apportion blame but this is an 'act of God' and thus immune from the usual blame mechanisms.  Being out of control and not knowing how to fix its power or know when it will end,  makes us vulnerable

 

The message from Pluto in Capricorn, is simply to allow ourselves to  sometimes not know! That makes we  adults scared but as a result we start connecting more with our hearts, and fully living. We cannot control everything and life is one great mystery essentially. There is magic in that knowledge and maybe we needed a wake up call to realise the 'unknown'  has a place in life. The collective message seems to be to  own up to the fact that our 'controlled', busy lives are sometimes a mask preventing us from fully  feeling !   Acceptance, being resourceful and recognising the power of nature as something to be respected are important words.

 

And what about our societal and personal volcanos? We know that volcanic ash can fertilise the ground around it.  Out of destruction  new life emerges. What patterns and cracks are being broken up in us so light can get in? And just as planes are grounded  the part of us which is not grounded needs a look at. Just some thoughts!

 

CONTROL ISSUES

 

How about our sense of authority – is it weak and we attract authority issues handling them with fear or by fighting? Or is it firmly quiet, generating respect in others?

 

Personally and collectively, we are controlling or are bullied  when we are fearful inside, so by healing that for ourselves in these coming times we assist the ‘quantum leap’ process in the world and we see healthier authority patterns in public structures. This does work!

 

We will see fresh air coming into things, but letting go of the fear of change is necessary.

 

The ‘zeitgeist ‘ or time Spirit of the Age is changing . Greeting it helps!

 

Issues to do with discipline – at school and in the community- will start to have overdue  new agendas. I predicted when Pluto entered Sagittarius in 1995/96, that there would be a rise of the gang culture. Youngsters having little respect for the status quo and authority and thus little in the way of boundaries, still needed the primal sense of belonging and family so unconsciously would seek out gangs . With Pluto in Capricorn, authority will undergo huge transformation, not least of all in the structures that people rebel against. A guidance which engenders respect  is Pluto’s aim in these coming years.

 

On a business level, start to expect more of the trend for companies to farm out work that has routinely been done ‘in house’. As Capricorn rules old age, retirement issues will need to be addressed . Depression sets in for many people at the thought of not having the activity, and the status a job brings etc. 

  NEW AGREEMENTS

 

With Saturn fully entering Libra the sign of balance in mid July, and with Jupiter and Uranus  entering the dynamic and impulsive sign of Aries this Summer time - June to late August -  harness new vision and start to put it to practical use. This is a perfect time to form new agreements with ourselves and others and balance the art of giving and receiving.

 

 As the planetary movements mirror our waves of change,   be aware now of this major shift occurring inside. Find the firm yet kind authority figure within you.  It really is a time of growing up, erasing the word ’trying’ and   belonging in gentler and wiser ways to this lovely planet.

Obviously this can be helpful when one has a choice of places! Some places as we well know can feel more ‘at home’ or productive than others. So, particularly, as you get closer to that time of change of location for yourself or your offspring, this service might appeal to you .  Even when there are some conflicts between the ‘spirit’ of that place and a person’s chart, I can advise how to learn from this.

I wrote the following article back in 2003 when a major shift was, and indeed  still is, occurring in the Solar System, the microcosm of our psyches and in our social structures. I felt guided to including it now in my website  as its themes and messages are very relevant to this time period – as you will see!

‘God’s pedestrians’ - the planets - also named the ‘wanderers’ by our ancestors, marked certain sign posts of change as they walked their pavements for us to recognise and synchronise with. On reading back about these changes I see a pattern forming and a growth in consciousness which I wrote about at the time.

As you read on, have a ‘check’ inside yourself as to what has shifted creatively in your life these past three years. And take a look at the world outside – the world stage – and recognise some of  the changes mentioned in this article.

 

                           CRACKS IN THE OLD REALITY:

 

TRANSFORMATIVE POWER VERSUS FEAR

What a challenging, yet creative time period we are living in! From an astrological perspective, we have been experiencing a huge tug of war where we are faced head-on with transformative power versus fear.

A polarisation process has become quite obvious: people are feeling more and more stuck and victim like, yet others are pushing their comfort zones further out and being creative with their lives. This time period strikes me as one of coming home to ourselves - finding out how to really be ourselves.

Any situations which do not resonate with that vibration are experiencing cracks or falling apart. You may have noticed an air of desperation around. People have felt desperate. This has been necessary so we could reach a point where we get still inside and, from apparent emptiness, recognise a new strength and identity. It is as though the Universal Intelligence is encouraging us all to grow up and face ourselves fully.

With the cracks which have been occurring personally and on the world stage in recent years, much light has come in. To quote the words of a song by Leonard Cohen, “there’s a crack, a crack in everything, that’s where the light gets in.” With the admission of light, vibrations get raised - things get revealed. Obstacles, shadows and problem areas get more apparent but we also see clearer pathways and areas of beauty becoming more obvious and enjoyable.

 

THE CHALLENGE OF BEING A CREATOR

I believe we are facing the challenge of being creators with the emotions and choices this contains. Every choice we make brings a possible future into our reality. We are all facing our 'edges'. We can get 'edgy' and resist, or can go over them and find a new support system, internally and externally. Scary stuff, but we become more truly alive in keeping with our potential. Spiritually, we are being encouraged to stop being dependent children and to use transformative power in our lives. Dis-empowering ourselves or wasting our power in negative emotions and reactions is losing its influence. Are you finding this to be true?

It is so important at this time to recognise that responsibility comes with the territory of being a Creator. Every thought, statement and intent will manifest more strongly in form. How are we doing with that? Density is not so thick now - energies, time and intent move more freely.

URANUS IN PISCES

The planet Uranus entered Pisces in the Spring of 2003. With the exception of the time period September 15th to December 30th of that year when it retrograded back into Aquarius, it resides in Pisces until March 2011.

There will be a definite breaking apart of old paradigms and beliefs. Old, dearly held illusions, dependency patterns and security needs wherein we hold both ourselves and others back from soul growth, will collapse. And a new reliance - a healthier one - on our higher selves and intuition will emerge. Our Souls will encourage us to look at our earlier dreams in life which either we ourselves or people in authority denied us. In some form or other we will feel drawn to manifesting them in new ways in our lives now. Are you finding this to be so at present?

Traditional religions will attract more and more questioning as to their motives and capacity to help modern day problems. There could be an emergence of breakaway religious institutions, and a de-mystifying of charismatic leaders. Whereas in the past 2,000 years relationships have often shifted into parent - child oriented roles in the arena of day to day life, the dynamic is now rapidly moving towards an 'equal' role. We are being urged to role-play less, particularly in those relationships where we have handed our power over to others or in those where we graft childhood dependencies and fears onto adult partnerships.

 

BEING OUR ESSENTIAL SELVES

These recent years have been awkward ones. But at least the uncomfortable feeling they produced is pulling us back time after time to BE with self and to address what is really needing expression rather than in creating the endless distractions which, in the past, our higher selves let us get away with!

This is a fantastic opportunity time to get in touch with our own unique magic. Uranus, the archetypal Magician in the sign of Pisces, shows its capacity to be a shape shifter and re-moulder of the energies of form. It puts us in contact with the ability to image-in and manifest our innovative projects, wishes and vision. We literally can re-mould our lives and our health patterns.

The power of this contains a warning though: if, instead, we amplify our fears and old habits, more of the old and the same will keep happening. Our systems, bodily, psychologically, and societally, won't handle that well at all - indeed, this is very obvious already in the form of excessive tiredness, unexpected major illnesses and epidemics. At heart, we know this to be true, no matter how we rationalise that statement away.

There is a lovely Zen saying I came across recently -

"When the Way comes to an end, change. Having changed you may pass through."

 

WALKING OUR SOUL PATH

Pisces is a mutable, water sign. With water, the line of least resistance is to go with the tide. That isn't weakness; it's less stressful! The word 'allow', is a very important one now. Allowing is not the same as giving up or being dis-empowered. Rather, we create space in our thoughts and energy fields to consciously get out of our own way so that we are on track with our Soul path and not clogged by old mind-sets.

When the mind is too clogged with habits and self pre-occupation, there is no room for soul to have its input. As the poet William Blake once wrote : "Life is not a problem to be solved but a mystery to be lived."

Because of the huge sense of insecurity in the world at present with the advent of global tensions, we have felt very out of control. It is vital we take care of ourselves as individuals; this will help the bigger picture long term. Finding our essential selves now so we can choose our true work, relationships, and life styles, necessitates even feeling apart from like-minded others, and/or family and friends.

The task of 'being', is paramount. With much chaos and the breaking down of systems in the world, we need to also find what is really essential (which may well be different to what we think it is!) in order to pace ourselves more and simplify life.

 

7 YEAR ITCHES AND CHANGES – The Magician at Work

Let's look at some specifics about the astrology/astronomy of this present time:

Uranus, the magician, maverick and agent of breakthrough, spends roughly 7 years in each zodiac sign - 84 years in total. Its exact dates when visiting Pisces this time round are:

March 10th 2003 — September 15th 2003

December 30th 2003 — May 28th 2010

August 14th 2010 — March 12th 2011

 

Now, Uranus has an 84 year cycle through the zodiac. It also takes 84 years to go round our birth charts. If we live to that age and beyond, at some point in our lives Uranus will home in on and come to rest for a while -  if rest is the right word – with each planet, each character that lives within us. It feels a bit strange as Uranus isn’t too settled a character! It likes change. When structures have become too stuck, when things have outlived their time particularly, there are ‘earthquakes.’ There are breakdowns or, more hopefully, breakthroughs 

Let's back track for a moment to put this into perspective:

In previous signs it mirrored the themes of their qualities, activating breakthroughs and eruptions in those areas. In 1968-75 it was in the sign of Libra - harmony and justice. The Peace Movement and anti-war protests were strong. Issues such as Watergate and the repercussions of Vietnam were faced. Between 1975 and 1981 Uranus was in Scorpio - the sign of sexual energy and indeed, energy resources in general. There was a big sexual revolution at that time, and the power behind money took on a new life. In 1981 Uranus entered Sagittarius - the sign of the seeker and the information carrier - until the late 80's. The rise of the internet  and expansion of knowledge flowered, as did a boom in the business world. Philosophically, the so called New Age movement also expanded.

Until 1995, Uranus was in Capricorn - the sign of structure, institutions and authority. We all recall the breakdown of communism and the Berlin wall from that time in the late 80's, I'm sure. But with freedom comes new responsibility and the chaos which accompanies unaccustomed liberation. It hasn't been an easy journey for those of us who prefer well established boundaries and familiarity. Then, in 1995 Uranus entered its home sign of Aquarius, which, having overloaded us with its electrical frequency, we are all still reeling from!

For sure there have been countless time-saving devices introduced and the massive rise of the Internet global phenomena, etc. but there has also been 'Information Overload,' with not enough time to make sense of it all. The personal life and the inner world have often been the losers in this, and the cracks have shown.

 

A LARGE WATERY SHADOW

Now, however, with the awakener Uranus who, mythologically, has been called the lightening rod and the sky god, having descended into the waters of our troubled Earth, a large watery shadow lurking beneath the surface, both personally and collectively has been exposed. Things need addressing in more imaginative and meaningful ways.

In recent years with the emphasis on advancing the world in mental, technological ways, meaning has been neglected, specifically meaningful connections and reflections. Links have been more transient and superficial, as there has been less time to develop and maintain close ties.

Aquarius, for all its inventiveness, fairness and foresight, can be very detached, and now, after its 7 year cycle until 2003, it is perhaps time for us all to honour in humility and awakened child like openness the bigger picture of the power of compassion, beauty and deeper meaning.

As Pisces rules, through its governor Neptune, the watery unconscious and well springs of life, this 7 year period we have recently started can do much to balance the overloaded left - reasoning - brain and the nervous system. We do need to allow the feeling realm to have a big say, not so much in the way of collapsing into ourselves and playing self - pitying victim (that again is a distraction from our 'essential self'), but rather by developing the technology of the interior world. By this, I refer to the treating of the intuition and imagination as real technologies just as we have honoured the technologies in the exterior world when, for example, we made endless gadgets.

 

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK

Children born during the sojourn of Uranus in Pisces will be highly psychic and telepathic. Psychic abilities and laws are really just natural laws that our five senses cannot access. We have to become aware of them and develop them by widening our filters and allowing them in. But these souls gracing our planet will be much more wide open than us, and, in times to come, will be the awakeners of the bridge with the invisible worlds. Communications will be of a much wiser and intuitive nature.

From 2003 and beyond, a greater understanding of the invisible realms and of how thought and emotion affect form will develop in general. The right brain function, governing patterns, colour, spatial relationships, imagination and the arts, is going to really come on stage. Interestingly, doctors recognise that there is a section of the mid brain which links the brain's two hemispheres as being larger in women, who, over the ages, have had good and bad press concerning their emotional and intuitive powers!

Certainly, the Arts will be starting to take on interesting new expression. There will be a plethora of inspired poetry, art and music.

 

BEAUTIFUL DREAMERS

The last time Uranus was in Pisces was between 1919 and 1928. This was a huge time for optimism and the expansion of the feminine impulse. In 1919, women got the right to vote in the U.S.A, and the suffragette movement and resultant vote for women in England followed.

The realm of images, which had so cleverly taken form in photography in an earlier Uranus/Pisces cycle back in the mid 1800's, moved on to become motion pictures, expressed itself in the rise of Hollywood and the first sound movie - 'The Jazz Singer'. Indeed, the Jazz Age was born. Expect a huge new jazz impulse to be growing now, one Uranus cycle on, with maybe a new angle introduced as well.

The advent, for better or for worse, of TV also occurred in 1926. One Uranus cycle on, we  see how information can be rushed instantly to the masses. Mis-information included. The media in general is facing the fact that responsibility comes with its territory regarding sensationalism and ratings. The necessity for truth and integrity will rear its head more as well as the need for consumers to take more responsibility for themselves regarding what they put into their bodies. What a crazy world it is when people want to sue manufacturers for the sugar and fat content in foods!

As I mentioned earlier, the times for being a victim are over. As Uranus is the awakener of the illusions and the up-setter of victim-hood tendencies met in the un-evolved side of Pisces, we had better get used to this message because it is here to stay for a while!

It is quite fascinating to journey back in time to much earlier cycles when other strong Piscean themes relating to the arts, altered states of consciousness, romance and inspired genius reigned. Figures such as Mozart, Renoir, Rodin and Blake are examples of people born during those times. The Romantic period coincided. There was also the opium wars between China and Great Britain in 1839.- accessing other realms of consciousness through various means is a very Piscean occupation! The Spiritualist movement took form in this way with its communication with the 'other side'.

 

NEW ORDERS

Fundamental issues to do with the home front and security will arise. Where big business interferes with local affairs we can expect upheavals; local traditions will take on more importance, welfare and the way in which we treat elderly people will be addressed, and environmental issues, particularly the need to clean up our water, will be significant.

Deep sea exploration and discoveries will hit the news more and more in the next couple of years; there may be new gemstones and mineral deposits found under the sea. Even the occasional sea-monster attracting the headlines! Art forms, inspired by the sea, could take the public interest and make for good business activity.

On a watery note, we need to pay heed to the symbolism of Pisces. This sign traditionally rules fluids in general, including poisons, lymph, drugs and oil. Water-carrying diseases will need new understanding. Hard to diagnose illnesses will increase, highlighting and bringing to our attention the need to think about the body differently. The mind/body/soul connection will definitely be taken more seriously.

Our immune system, planetary and bodily, is weak and we have to find a new way to strengthen and protect it without resorting to the use of drugs and chemicals.

Taking responsibility for the planet we all share and to act with integrity and courage would be wise. Short term answers will show cracks immediately.

 

PRODUCTIVE GROWTH

Needless to say, we live in a generally pampered society in the western world,  which includes the thinking that more is better. Quantity over quality rules. Take junk food as an example. Because it is empty of proper nutrients and healthy energy we feel empty and want to eat more and more. With quality food, even if it takes longer to prepare etc. we feel satisfied more readily. We can apply this idea also to our sex and social lives! Putting Soul into things and relationships cannot be rushed - quality takes time and love.

The Mind needs the brain to operate through, but more and more in these coming years. We will come to a better understanding that consciousness does survive physical death, and paranormal research will start to back this up. Interesting studies will ensue. More room and respect in higher education will be made for studies in the alternative and complementary therapy field, and this applies to astrology as well.

 

MESSAGES FROM NATURE

Anything which grows and re-orders itself, needs time and balance. The planet is more Human dominated than Nature dominated nowadays, yet we are not co-operating with Nature's idea that everything needs to run in balance. As a result, our bodies' which are born from Nature, even if our Souls are from elsewhere, are getting increasingly out of balance. More and more hard to diagnose and treat illnesses abound. The tendency is to pile money into and make money from new drugs which weaken our immune systems. The environment's immune system is already weak and therefore physically we are all easily weakened.

When Uranus was in its home sign of Aquarius between 1995 and 2003 revolutions and social and political upheavals were very obvious. On entering Pisces, our physical bodies are more easily affected. This includes the body of the Earth. The lymphatic system is more prone to poisoning. The 'fall out' from war affects the immune system of the earth which of course affects our personal immune systems. Toxic substances pollute land and water.

I believe there will be a rush of research and its resultant therapies concerned with detoxifying and healing our immune systems. Learning to be of service to our own body and the Earth's body will engage our minds and even our studies.

We are all aware of how things are moving very quickly nowadays. This also applies to transmission of imbalance and toxicity. We need to address co-operating with Nature's rhythms and to honour what our Souls are trying to tell us from their higher frequency standpoint. Our old mind sets will fight back but now with Uranus in Pisces our intuition and the breakdown of old beliefs and authorities will accelerate our growth.

In the past fifty years Human-kind has proliferated here on Earth! It has tripled. If we feel we cannot proportion space better, then we need to take a hard look at creating space in our inner lives and not clogging ourselves with past patterns. We persist in interacting in the old ways whilst our Souls are resonating to a higher frequency now and feel out of alignment with those.

The key to this time period lies in being aware of these changes, trusting the inner Self much more and allowing space within us for being a Creator in our lives. Tiredness at a deep level can fall away when we make room inside to find the life beneath our life situation. When we are full of problems, there is no room for solution - why make a SELF out of that? The ESSENTIAL SELF can be so easily forgotten - Now is the time to allow it in.

I would like to close with a quote from a magical little book called "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle:

 

"Now is the time. The biggest magic lies in 'how we see things'. If we are being Creators this year, rather than victims, what we say, think and intend, will happen very fast. That is the gift, curse and responsibility 'spiritual adulthood' brings - letting go of old beliefs, securities and re-actions. It is easier to die than to transform. Transformative power at this time, or fear? Above all, we are choosers, if we are creators in our lives.

Keep choosing."
